Climate change threatens the livelihoods of billions of people. Extreme weather events such as droughts, floods, and storms are on the rise, making it harder to access food, water, and income.
Caritas Switzerland supports the most vulnerable communities in adapting to the consequences of the climate crisis and strengthening their resilience. We promote the protection of natural resources, climate-resilient solutions, and sustainable income opportunities so that people can secure their livelihoods in the long term.
Climate Justice
Taking responsibility
The climate crisis affects us all. However, its consequences are unequally distributed: those most affected are the people who have contributed the least to its causes.
Caritas Switzerland is therefore committed to climate justice and supports those people in the Global South who are particularly affected by the consequences of the climate crisis.
