Aldi Suisse AG
Aldi Suisse AG has had a presence with its product range in Switzerland since 2005. Aldi Suisse AG assumes its social responsibility not only with Fairtrade products, but has also supported the Caritas Markets for many years and, since 2011, helped children experiencing poverty and their families in Switzerland. During the Christmas period, Aldi Suisse AG sells Caritas Christmas goods such as gift wrapping paper, cards and tealight holders under the Caritas label, donating all the profits to the Caritas Children’s Relief Fund. 

Georg Fischer Clean Water Foundation
With its Clean Water Foundation, Georg Fischer AG is involved in improving the water supply in developing countries and in disaster regions. The foundation currently supports a drinking water project in Ethiopia. Clean Water Fondation

Sunstar Hotels
The Sunstar Hotel Group has hotels in the Grisons, the Bernese Oberland and Valais. In cooperation with Caritas, it offers poor families or individuals free holidays.



Swiss Solidarity
Swiss Solidarity is an independent foundation established by the Swiss radio and TV company SRG SSR and supports Caritas' Humanitarian Aid with the donations it collects.

JTI Foundation

Leopold Bachmann Foundation
The Leopold Bachmann Foundations works worldwide to promote initiatives and schemes to train young people in vocational training centres, and for the sustained improvement of the living conditions for women and men.

Medicor Foundation
The Medicor Foundation invests its capital in environmentally and socially responsible companies. It supports projects backed by Caritas Switzerland in Latin America, Africa and Eastern Europe.

SV Foundation
The SV Foundation backs projects that promote healthy nutrition. It supports the Caritas Market - healthy! and enables people affected by poverty to buy fruit and vegetables at low prices.


The Swiss Government

Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC)
The Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) is the agency for international cooperation within the DFA, and is responsible for the general coordination of development cooperation and cooperation with Eastern Europe, as well as for humanitarian aid at Federal level. The SDC and Caritas have closely cooperated for many years at the financial, operative and conceptual level.

Human Security Division (AMS) of the Federal Department for Foreign Affairs
The Human Security Division (AMS) is responsible for implementing the measures of the Federal Department for Foreign Affairs (DFA) to promote civil peace and strengthen human rights. Caritas Switzerland works with AMS in committees and round tables.

Loterie Romande
The Loterie Romande supports the continuous expansion of provisions for young people in difficult circumstances, volunteer projects of working with mountain farmers' families as well as legal advice and integration measures for asylum seekers and refugees in Fribourg.

Solidarit’eau suisse
Swiss municipalities and water suppliers support a number of Caritas Switzerland's drinking water projects via the Initiative Solidarit'eau suisse.


International organisations

EuropeAid, the General Directorate for Development Cooperation of the European Commission, is responsible for the development programmes of the European Union and supports Caritas projects among others.

European Commission Humanitarian Office (ECHO)
ECHO is the European Commission's Directorate-General for Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection. ECHO supports victims of humanitarian crises, including outside the European Union, through funding of partner organisations such as Caritas Switzerland.



Universities, specialist institutions, Associations, NGOs

Caritas is a founder member of the AGUASAN working group. In this interdisciplinary forum, specialists from the fields of water provision, waste water treatment and hygiene in developing countries discuss and share their experiences and knowledge.

Alliance Sud
Alliance Sud is the common platform for development policy of the six Swiss development organisations Swissaid, Catholic Lenten Fund, Bread for All, Helvetas, Caritas and Heks. It works to promote coherence in Switzerland's development policies towards poor countries.

CURAVIVA Schweiz is the national association of more than 2400 retirement homes and social institutions. Together with Curaviva, Caritas organises an educational series on the subject of palliative care in retirement and nursing homes.

Forum for the Integration of Migrants
The Forum for the Integration of Migrants is the umbrella organisation of migrant organisations in Switzerland and their official representative. It has no political or religious affiliations.

Centre for Peacebuilding (KOFF)
The Centre for Peacebuilding (KOFF) of swisspeace is a networking platform for actors in civil peace promotion, and promotes discussion and learning processes on individual countries and topics. Caritas Switzerland is a member organisation of KOFF.

Max Havelaar
Caritas is a pioneer of fair trade in Switzerland. That is why in 1992, jointly with Bread for All, Swiss Catholic Lenten Fund, HEKS, Helvetas and Swissaid, it founded the Max Havelaar foundation. Caritas continues to be an important voice in the association.

Caritas is a founder member of the climate foundation myclimate, which has become one of the world's leading providers of voluntary greenhouse gas offsetting measures. Caritas cooperates with myclimate in various climate protection projects.

University of Bern: Centre for Development and Environment (CDE)
The Centre for Development and Environment (CDE) is the University of Bern’s centre for sustainable development research. Caritas Switzerland hosts students of the CDE and is using and sharing knowledge through the World Overview of Conservation Approaches and Technologies (WOCAT) system.

Swiss Centre of Expertise in Human Rights
Through studies, meetings, information campaigns and training, the Swiss Centre of Expertise in Human Rights makes a practical contribution towards strengthening the capacities of authorities at all levels, civil society and the business community to protect and promote human rights in Switzerland, and stimulates public discussion of the topic of human rights. It is active in six areas: migration, police and justice, gender policy, child and youth policy, institutional issues, and economy and human rights. Caritas Switzerland has a seat  on the SCHR advisory board.

Swiss Conference for Social Aid and Welfare (SKOS)
The Swiss Conference for Social Aid and Welfare (SKOS) drafts recommendations and guidelines for defining and assessing social aid. Its members include representatives of Federal, cantonal and community social services departments, as well as private organisations.

Swiss Refugee Council
The Swiss Refugee Council represents the interests of its members, including Caritas Switzerland, and works at the political level for the introduction of a fair and correct legal protection process.
