Symposium 2024 - Balancing Climate Protection with Poverty Reduction
On November 11, 2024, Caritas Switzerland will host a half-day symposium dedicated to exploring the intricate relationship between climate protection and socioeconomic development in the Global South. We will be welcoming a diverse group of speakers such as development professionals, environmentally focused CSOs, green tech entrepreneurs, and climate activists from the Global South.
Our goal is to provide a platform where renowned experts can discuss the complex interplay between advancing green initiatives and implementing poverty alleviation strategies in development cooperation. We will highlight the inherent trade-offs in pursuing climate protection and economic growth and seek innovative approaches that harmonize these objectives, creating mutually beneficial outcomes for both the environment and its beneficiaries.
