The world is in stormy waters, and development cooperation is coming under ever-increasing pressure. So far in 2025, Switzerland and many other countries have made drastic cuts to their international aid budgets— at a time when crises are multiplying and the need is greater than ever before:
- A third of the world’s population does not have enough to eat.
- 123 million people have been forced to flee their homes.
- Billions lack access to clean drinking water.
- And, in the photo above, what looks like a bountiful harvest at first glance is actually the last chance many people have to earn a little money.
We will not abandon people in need and will keep operating in the crisis-hit regions of this world—with solidarity, humanity and determination, the building blocks of a world without poverty.

Our mission is to be there for and with one another
Working together with our project participants in various countries, we are safeguarding livelihoods, creating new opportunities, and helping to boost their individual strengths.
In one support program, Haieduangel is devising a business plan for her business in Colombia and increasing her sales of cakes and cupcakes.
Sophea and Romodol are re-envisioning agriculture in northwestern Cambodia with the help of our project team.
Together with our staff and partners, Samba and her family in central Mali are coming up with viable solutions for the future.
