Children into school
Challenge
In developing countries, millions of children are unable to go to school because they are too poor. Yet education is the best way for young people to lift themselves out of poverty. A solid education is not only the basis for building a secure livelihood as an adult, it also strengthens children’s self-confidence. They learn to believe in themselves and in their abilities. This will enable the children in Africa, Asia and Latin America to stand on their own two feet one day.
Caritas aid
- Nursery schools for Roma children in Bosnia-Herzegovina
- A safe learning environment for Syrian refugee children
- Vocational training in the construction sector for young people in Haiti
- Teaching Ethiopian children to use water sustainably
With just one Swiss franc per day, you enable poor children and young people to attend school and to gain a vocational qualification. Become a child sponsor and give the children a real chance of a better future.
Support in Bosnia-Herzegovina: More than just a nursery school
«I could not work because I had to look after my children – we lived on the charity of relatives. I am so happy that my two boys were accepted into the Caritas nursery schools programme. Now I have found a part-time job and I can provide for my family. My children look forward to going to nursery every day. I am confident that they will make it through school and that they will be able to take their future into their own hands».
