Help for people affected by the Gaza war
Your donation for those affected by the conflict in the Gaza Strip
The humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip remains catastrophic. Due to the immense destruction of infrastructure, hundreds of thousands of people in urgent need of assistance. Caritas Switzerland and its partner organizations support the affected civilian population and are ready to immediately expand their aid as soon as possible.
Since the brutal attack by armed Hamas fighters in October 2023, Israel has been waging war in the Gaza Strip and West Bank, causing immeasurable suffering for the civilian population. People lack everything.
The situation in the Gaza Strip remains critical: the access to essential relief supplies is severely restricted; babies and children are suffering from malnutrition; and emergency shelters are overcrowded. The infrastructure is largely in ruins, electricity and water supplies are sporadic, and livelihoods have been destroyed.

«Due to ongoing blockades at border crossings and destroyed infrastructure, far too few relief supplies are reaching the Gaza Strip to even come close to meeting the needs of the population.»Sarah bussresponsable for Humanitarian action
Despite countless obstacles, Caritas Switzerland's local partners have been successfully helping people on a daily basis: every water canister, every food parcel, and every medical treatment gives new hope.

Gaza: The needs stay enormous
There has been a severe food shortage in the Gaza Strip for months and the civilian population is threatened by an acute famine. Israel has been blocking all aid deliveries and delays approval processes. These transit delays sometimes last so long that the goods spoil. n top of that, the infrastructure was severely damaged during the war.
«Destruction is everywhere. But we will carry on. Our commitment to greater humanity is unwavering.»ahmed dahlanproject manager CRS (local partner)
Petrol is also in short supply, which is severely hampering the work of hospitals. Vaccines cannot be refrigerated, and equipment such as incubators and ambulances are out of service. The civilian population is suffering from a lack of health care and limited access to food, clean water, and sanitation facilities.
Alarming humanitarian situation in the West Bank
The humanitarian situation in the West Bank also remains very tense. There are regular bombings and operations by the Israeli army. Thousands of people have had to leave their homes and all their belongings behind. The intensified Israeli offensives lead to regular curfews, checkpoints and roadblocks.
Our local partner organizations provide tireless help
Since October 2023, we have been working with two local partner organizations to implement emergency aid projects for the suffering civilian population in the Gaza Strip. Both partners have been active in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank for decades and tailor their support to the needs of the civilian population and the prevailing conditions. Despite the personal impact on their staff, the organizations are working tirelessly to provide life-saving emergency aid.
«Despite the enormous challenges, we adapt our aid to the constantly changing circumstances and respond promptly to support those who need it most.»Abdel MohsenProject employee CRS
People at the center of our commitment
